India vs Pakistan T20 head to head looks at the historical record of these 2 international teams in T20 matches including number of wins, highest and lowest scores and player records in IND vs PAK T20 head to head games.
India vs Pakistan head to head matches in any format of cricket are without a doubt some of the biggest sporting fixtures in the world. The India vs Pakistan match during the 2019 50 over World Cup is said to have attracted a live TV audience of some 1.6 billion people or to put it another way almost 1 out of every 5 people on the planet watched that cricket match!
Political tensions and security concerns have made India vs Pakistan T20 head to head matches a rarity over the years which while disappointing for fans does of course add to the drama when the 2 sides are drawn against each other in ICC events. In fact, IND vs PAK as a T20 bilateral series has only taken place once way back in 2012 when Pakistan played 2 matches in India and recorded what was to date their only win over their bitter rivals.
Since 2012 India vs Pakistan matches have been limited to international tournaments and unfortunately for those vast audiences mentioned above have been very one-sided affairs with India running out comfortable winners on each occasion.
The 2021 T20 World Cup being hosted in the UAE gives another chance for us to see a T20 head to head between India and Pakistan with the fixture providing both sides opening game as a repeat of the inaugural T20 World Cup final which India would go onto win. That India have not managed to add to their single win back in 2007 and that Pakistan since their trophy win 2 years later haven’t even come close to challenging at another World Cup is undoubtedly a sore spot for both sets of supporters. Could 2021 be the year to change that for either India or Pakistan?

Highest score in an India vs Pakistan T20 match
The highest score in an India vs Pakistan T20 head to head match was made by India when they scored 192 in the 2nd match of the IND vs PAK bilateral series that took place in 2012.
Needing to win to level the series, the hosts set off at a frantic pace with Gautum Gambhir leading the charge with 29 from 11 balls. When he was out things settled down as Rahane and Kohli looked to lay a solid foundation by going along at a little over a run a ball throughout the middle portion of the match.
Having laid those foundations it was then left to the Indian middle and lower order to up the ante and in that regard Yuvraj Singh did not disappoint. The big left-hander who 5 years earlier in the inaugural T20 World Cup had lit up the tournament with 6 x sixes in an over went about dispatching the Pakistani bowlers to all corners in an innings of 72 from 36 balls.

Lowest score in an India vs Pakistan T20 match
The lowest score in India vs Pakistan T20 head to head matches was recorded by Pakistan when they made just 83 in an Asia Cup match that took place in 2016.
On a challenging Shere Bangla Stadium pitch, Pakistan got off to a poor start in losing both openers, Mohammed Hafeez and Sharjeel Khan early. From their debutant Khurram Manzoor and the experienced Shoaib Malik dug in knowing that any total in excess of 130 would likely prove a tricky chase in the conditions.
However, Manzoor gifted India his wicket with a needless run out during which he somehow managed to lose his bat half way down the track and a mini-collapse followed as Pakistan were swiftly reduced to 35 for 5. Sarfraz Ahmed offered some brief resistance for Pakistan but India’s middle over bowlers continued to take regular wickets with Hardik Pandya finishing with 3 for 8 and Ravi Jadeja also chipping in with a couple of scalps.
As well as being the lowest total in India vs Pakistan T20 matches this was also Pakistan’s lowest first innings score ever in the shortest format and despite an early burst from Mohammed Amir that saw India slip to 8 for 3 at one point they ultimately cruised to victory.
